I am curious if anyone ever figured out what works on interchange of different stock sizes.
For exmple
If you have a 24" frame and use a 20" fork, What tire would you use?
If you have a 20" frame and use a 26" fork, What tire could you use? What could you use on Rear?
I have never had enough junk bikes to do this experiment. But I see a lot of bikes here that look like something is really off here.

Any Pictures with comments of what was used would make more sense to me.
Thanks

I seen 700's on a 20 the other day at my kids school...

Usually the frame or fork size is the largest you can go... anything smaller will fit. Pedals may get close to the ground unless you swap out cranks for 24 20 18 16 etc.

20" wheels, 20x3 rear, 24" frame, 26" adjustable fork, Not finished yet it's going to have a 20x3 front too.

20x3 rear, 16" front, 16" fork, 26" frame, 16" cranks, pedals were CLOSE!

20x3 rear, 20" front, 26" fork, 26" cranks, altered BB location

And finally a 20" frame, 20x3 front and back, slight frame mod

The Krates used a 24" springer so the 16" tire would work.I have a few '07 Wal Mart Sting Rays and they used a 20" springer with the 16" tire. The front end looked too low for me so I swapped on a 20" wheel

I've used 24x3" in a 26" frame after massaging it a bit...

and a 26x 1.75" just barely fit in in the 24" fork of my Frankenbike.

It would've fit in back too, if I didn't need handbrakes to hit the rim. I ended up swapping swingarms.

Do you have a detail pic of that front rack? I used to have one like that. I think. It was cool. Had plastic housings on the lights.

My little Dahon had skinny 16" wheels.

It now has 20x4 rims with Harley tires and goes by the name of Fugsley

Bigcam59, Did you use a 24" fork on the front of the black bike? or is it a 26" fork?
It was a 26" fork. As for the rack, I don't remember where it cam from. It was originally set up to work with a generator. I converted it to LED lights. The little blue pouch on the back is a battery pack.

the frame is for 27" but it have 700c wheels and a 26"fork

most 26" frame will fit 27" or 700c wheels ,if the tires are not to big

onehorsepower, Great looking build !
Thanks! it means allot , i am really proud of this one :D

Here is one I am currently experimenting with. I believe the frame is a early 80's Murray made for 24" rims. Most of the parts I have taken off of 20" donor bikes. The neck and fork are off of a newer 26" Schwinn SSX. I have a sissy bar I just am waiting to purchase a banana seat for it and also thinking about changing the neck.
