Hey Peatbog, Thanks for the stance comp.
I'll now say that yesterday's mount was a Proof of Concept :lol:
Got some thicker aluminum today and it's much better (ie safer)
Kept thinking about how you would machine something up :mrgreen:

Got in the saddle today
So I looked at the setup this morning and shook my head
Went to the metal warehouse and got some 3" channel and 1/4" flat
Simplified the design with the right pieces
Still have one more piece I'd like to make but it works now :wink:
It's actually really solid. Curved the edges and put in grade 8 bolts
Thought they might look kinda cool (and strong) and they kinda match the brazing
Took it for a 4 mile shake down, changed the bar angle til it was comfortable
Maybe they will stay that way but it looks a little funny
Took it down to the community garden. It rolls smooth..
Then over to the gulley, knees didn't hurt yet :lol:
Up to the Longfellow park, have to get out of the saddle to get going :roll:
And parked in my yard, where I can look at it a bit
Think the blued frame looks kinda brown in the right light
Can't wait to get the wheels, it will change the look again
Also need them to mount the truss rods :wink:
Thinking about covering the seat but we'll see if there's time
So vacation was productive
Shifter is going to be a pain, but got lots of al stock for a bracket

So I’m convinced and now need to get it done
Think I might steal Slowriderz idea about an old leather coat for a seat cover
Here are a few more pictures of the seat pan, front bearings set up, and the simplified rear mount

And Thanks so much someone (Bean, I think) for the trick of using paint thinner on the tire stickers
Used this combo and took them off in minutes, can’t wait to do it to the rest of my bikes
Hopefully get the wheels tomorrow and then finish up some more details by Sunday

Love that seat. It was one of the seats that inspired me towards my current seat when I discovered that I had it.

Glad I didn't leave the rims white, they are less spectacular but kinda fit it better
Had to use a half link to get it spaced out better

It rides nice but can't wait for the stick shift

Looks great with those wheels. I don't know why but no matter how many times I look at the pics I always find myself drawn to the rear wheel/tire.

I've see a 24" (iso520mm) for BMX/recumbent Deep V (30 deep)

It was productive and I got some things purdied up
So I'll play the guessing game for once

Well, It's done!
Got a few more things I want to do but everything is there
The minute I started a shakedown ride, it started to rain :lol:
so maybe get a few more details done
So I used some hammered copper paint (plus clear) on the pitted truss rods and seat springs
Took the seat pan down to bare metal (pitted, surprise) then primered, painted and clear coated
The shifter is a ratchet mechanism that works awesome!
Forward for downshift and back for upshift
Like the way the mechanism looks (plus all metal) so I'm leaving the plastic cover off
That's the second "art" shot
Like the road bike stem better too, another horizontal surface to blend in
Hopefully the extra work yesterday makes it a little classier (yet still tough)
