A LBS is doing some cleaning out of old stock and I have picked up a few bits and pieces over the last couple of weeks either free or very cheap . They offered me a new chrome 20" frame, and as my son is fast out growing his 16" bike, it was the perfect chance to build him a new bike.
I had the parts already and it only took a couple of hours today to throw it all together. It is my quickest build yet and has turned out to be the most rewarding. When I "unveiled" it this afternoon, the smile on his face was worth a million bucks , and he said "Awesome, now I've got a cool RatRod just like you!".
I'm not sure if the whitewalls will stay, I might try either a set of all black or red tires.

I get more of a kick out of building stuff for my son than I do myself.

That is Schweeeeet! I have built bikes for both of my daughters, and you are right about building for the kiddos being more rewarding. What tires are you running on the orange bike?

They are 26 x 3 Kenda Flames.

Yep. It was also Fathers Day yesterday here in Australia, and we had a couple of rides in the park straight across the street, cooked some chicken, and played totem tennis.....great day . Last night, my son, Charlie, also asked if he can help build his next bike 8) .
