Oh, and did I mention it was lightweight? The two frames I used are from the 90's, a Schwinn and a Nishiki.

But I have the chainline figured out. It'd be nice if I could find the Nishiki derailleurs, front and back.
Yeah that bench is trashed...lol also the little idler mount isn't welded yet but I wanted to get back to my coffee before I went in to the guitar shop. An hour or two every chance I get and it'll be done in time...

Just a matter of interest, I notice you have a pair of nearly worn out wire wheels on your bench. What would they look like if they were stripped of whatever wires are left and bolted on each end of the former BB hole? Could they be made into a decent looking pair of BB end caps?
I really don't know why I try to make things so complicated. All I need is a simple roller... Tomorrow I'll grab a piece of pvc tubing and a better fender washer.

Yeah man, it needs it's own identity. Love the ingenious location of the front derailleur
Thanks. I oriented the extra BB with the original down tube so that the socket for the post would be there. I have bar end shifters so the one for the front will likely mount right in the top of that tube. Gonna need about a 10 inch cable set in a U shape to run that front derailleur.
Headed back out soon to mess with handlebars...

My old Daisy Tandem that I converted into Harlequin had a tensioner like that, problem with small gears in the open is they like to jump off. a roller with modest flanges works the best, especially out in the open away from the cogs, where the chain is really bouncing around some. Think about our rear derailleurs, they have sides on the gears not allowing the chain to jump off the chain line.I saw this guide on a tandem in the FOR SALE section and thought of your build.

Paint n' Primer in one... Both colors. So I laid on the putty then the blue while it was still wet. Then I specked some putty back on top. Tomorrow I'll marble it in the morning. Next few days I'm busy busy but gotta go when I can. Marble effect is down and dirty, put a plastic bag on your hand, spay paint in your palm then grab the frame. I did it on Kaiju 1 and it was pretty cool.
