That tank doesn't need a bike, it's cool on its own.

Hey kf, how many bikes are actually in your keeper stable? I realize it's probably a fluctuating number, but what is the average number of keepers you have?

Hard to say. I probably have two versions of "keepers". Riding keepers and project keepers. The rider keepers (bikes I actually ride around Savannah) aren't many because I only a small amount of space since I live in an urban historic row house. These are mostly my Build Off Bikes. So currently I have about 4 riders.

I look at all of my bikes (new and old) as investments too since I pay for all of my bike stuff with bike sales. Because of this I am an opportunistic buyer too. When a bike at the right price pops up, I'll buy it even if I know I don't have the time to work on it or flip it. A few of those popped up during BO11. Heck, even the SK that became SaltHammer was an opportunistic purchase made just a few days before the Build Off started. Now that I can breath a little after BO11, I plan to clean tune and sell a few of those purchases.

With that said, most of my other bikes are just regular bikes I plan to flip. But there are some of the old ones that I would consider Keeper Projects. These would be the JetFlow, the X53, the Oriole, the Shelby, and a few others. It's reasonable to assume that most any bike I have is potentially for sale. Even some of the "keepers" I don't consider forever keepers. I've had countless people want VerBoten, but I'm not ready yet. I even already had at least 3 potentially serious buyers for SaltHammer.

I get just about as much fun out of the wheeling and dealing as I do building the bikes. It's all part of the fun.

What do you really think about these Felt bicycles? To me they all look the same, just different paint, but I don't know much about them.

They are heavy, but I really like the styling, how they are built, and how they ride. Cool components and nods to the past and the builds we do.
