Yes, they put the "gripe" shifter on the stem. Probably when the added the Electra apes and complained about the shifter cable not being long enough anymore.

I always wanted to put a gripshift on the seatpost but I'm rather short and have to slam all my seats down

Took a 6 hour round trip to Jacksonville late today.

Picked up this Western Flyer X53 from the granddaughter of the original owner.

Then scored this Felt El Guapo with a Nexus3 hub laced to one of my favorite wheelsets.

Won this black anodized Lawless clamp on kickstand on the BBRPD drawing. Should be able to use this for one of the stretch frames that I have (Ruff StreamLiner, Ruff Porucho, TSP Oldster) whenever I get around to building one of the out.
