Realized I have a cracked crossbar on the handlebars. Probably from one of the many jumps or wrecks I did as a early - mid teen.

Got the polishing wheels and polished up some of the areas on the 4130 components.

Cable and.lick sat here often.

How do you lose a red seat??? Been looking for 30 minutes for it.

These AMI grips don't want to go on. Gonna need to file the burred ends on the handlebars and then the should go on.

Half way thru the wheels. Tore them down for regrease, and wanted to take care of the fade that they've done over time.

Plenty of good grease in there but what's to hurt with a scrub down and new grease.

When wet, they look close to what they looked new.

Enter WD40. Doesnt.work to release stuck on bolts, but when wiped on the old resin mags...

Will wipe the rest of the excess off tomorrow when I put them back together.
Little late but blue polishing compound would get those wheels new

Never heard of the blue. Good to know. Polishing wheel would scare me a bit with these.

Unlike the mags in the store, these mags were never shiny, even new. They've absorbed grease before on the rear hub when overheated and it run down the spokes. That always left them as red as new. I knew wd40 would be similar amd not effect it too much. Had it not worked may have looked at dye or now the blue compound.

I use the Dremel and go nice and slow even if it's not shiny it would get the deep red back

great looking bike!
Thank You Ian!

I haven't done much on this except ride it around the house. Finished up the Darts disc brake conversion and brake line replacement last weekend.

Added mx bars to my BuildOff bike from last summer for the Wednesday ride downtown last night. I like it better like this...

Been a busy few weekend now that spring is here. Weeds and raking and general cleanup last weekend.

Found a few spots on the head tube this morning, still needing to be smoothed flat from a rock I ran into once. Plans this afternoon with friends. Will pull the polisher out sometime this evening and see if I can knock the edge down.

Couldn't find any cro mo mag decals in the last 10 years, so it will probably say cro mo free instead.

Hope to finish it be for the end of the month. OBC is the week after the end and want to ride it one of the days I'm at the event.

Hand is still weak on the wrist. Helped the neighbor pull a stump yesterday with the Hi Lift Jack and today swollen and painful from thumb to wrist, just like after the wednesday ride a couple weeks ago... Hopefully will be somewhat stronger soon..
