Hey everyone, I've been lurking here for a while now and actively participating on the Facebook group, but I've decided it's high time to joined up here!
I'm a former automotive restoration tech and performance tuner, and a current stay-at-home dad, located just outside of Atlanta, GA. I got into bikes a little over a year ago when on a whim I decided to build a banana seat bike for my son's birthday. It's constructed from two Walmart girls bikes, which I cut in half and welded together. After completing that build, I was hooked. I now have almost 40 bikes ranging from a pre-war Rollfast (a former RRBBO competitor!) to a 2000s Huffy Slither, and everything in between. I collect and build whatever I think is cool, and I'm not particular about brand. That said, at least a quarter of my collection consists of Murray-built bikes, so I have developed a bit of a soft spot for them!
Without further ado, here are a few of my bikes:
My first ratbike build. This was the what got me hooked!
1938ish Snyder-built Rollfast (or possibly Hawthorne.) This was originally entered in RBBO9 as "The Merc" AKA "Godspeed" by a member whose name I forget now!
Huffy Slither with a mild stretch, on 20x3's.
My most recent build, "Event Horizon." Started with a '93 Huffy Good Vibrations frame and added homemade dropout extensions and 29" rollers from a Genesis GS7.
