I got this from a quick search...I had the same reaction when the dude turned that bike around and Said he had seen it before on another Schwinn ? , just strange.

...the one on the bottom bracket is 'backwards' as well.
Do you know what year the bike is? I would find it very odd that they would do something like that post-WWII, backwards or not .

So sad but true. Throughout history, many good deep-seated symbols have been corrupted, twisted or debased from their original meaning. The rainbow is another good example.The Swastika was considered a good luck symbol before Adolph starting using it.
