Back in February, on that sunny, but bitter cold day I was taking pics of my Silver King, I was confronted by a gentleman that was part of the local historical society while taking this photo in front of the historical society "museum":

Long story short, after talking for a bit, he loved the bike and the fact that I was riding it and said his wife would love to do a story on me.
Fast forward to a week or so ago and this story was in the historical society's monthly publication. I tried to make sure I got the site name and HACBC show in there for posterity.....Enjoy!!

Free storage BONUS!!!! Now you can get more bikes!!!

Not quite. I'm actually losing the majority of my storage space so anything that's not decent and doesn't sell at the HACBC show in a couple weeks, may wind up in the metal pile for the scrap yard unfortunately.

If the actual story link/photo thing doesn't open up where you can read it, I'm not sure how I can post it as a large photo. I tried but I keep getting an ERROR message.

I just got a call from the local radio station wanting to talk to me about the bikes and the hobby too...... o_O

I won't scrap anything "cool". I'd give it away first! The store bikes or piles of parts that aren't really going to go anywhere can go in the scrap pile.

Looks like I'll be doing a radio interview in a month on a show called the "Coaches Corner". It's a Saturday morning breakfast type of show for athletic topics and usually involves the local football and basketball coaches. So why in the world he wants to interview a bike builder boggles the brain. Maybe he's going to tie in the athleticism of the cycling life. Guess I'll have to bring a friend.....

Did my radio interview a this morning. I think it went pretty well even tho I talk fast. I talked about my collection, the hobby, my Monarks, my TAXI bike and the trip to Chicago to ride with the TailDraggers. He made sure I mentioned ratrodbikes.com loud & clear and how this kind of hobby is not only for adults, but for youth and/or adults & youth together.
