Forgot to mention it looks like it rides awesome in the vid! I'll bet that's a lot of fun.
It is indeed! Love riding it!

Bike is stripped again:

I have this strange sense of deja-vu, wasn't I at this point a week ago?
I will say this, that paint is tough stuff! Took much longer than I thought it would...

Lots of bad painting weather in the coming days, just brought the stripped frame inside and I will wait it out.

The next time around, you might consider spreading a tarp or some plastic sheeting down before you spray the flakes so that you can gather them up and reuse them if you need it. Just make sure that your shoes are clean!

Good luck.

No point in doing half a job when you have come this far when the rest of the work is spot on.

Been thinking the same thing! Drop sheets are cheap compared to flake...

The glue says 24 hours dry time... :39:

I got bored... 2 hours is plenty right?

Out came the angle grinder with a well worn flap disc and I went to work shaping:

You can see the disc caught slightly on the base bit, but it is very small and I don't think it will be noticeable once the fabric is stretched over it:

Now to wrap them!

Luke.

Looking good, was wondering what type of atire you will be wearing whilst riding the bike to contrast with the Mexician blanket and metal flake ?
:21: I hadn't thought that far ahead!

Luke.

The more I see this the more I wish I had your skills.... guess I'll keep practicing.

Thanks!

Aside from welding/fabrication, I don't have any special skills, the design, paint and seat work is all trial and error... Would love to see you build something crazy!
Seat looks awesome. Brake mount is nice and clean. Can't wait to see the re-flake
Thanks Chad!
what's that weird looking little car?
2002 Daihatsu Cuore.
1 litre, 3 cylinder, 50 miles to the gallon... ;) Had it for 11 years now, will be selling it soon and replacing it with my little Datsun, I feel the need for retro...

Luke.

Welding and fab is what I'm talking about.
I can weld ok, just not sure I trust it enough yet to build a bike frame. I'm working on it though. Have a couple ideas in my head, maybe I'll be able to do one in a few months.

A few months hey? Maybe May through to August? :39:
Congrats on your 1,500th post too!

Cool! Not a bad looking little car. Just weird to me because you don't see them in the states.
