Those Rock Hawks made all the difference. Could you take a picture with a measuring tape next to them near the chainstay or seatstay so I can get an idea of width? They'd look pretty good on my RockRat!

Thank you. I love them.

Had to deflate the rear tire to get the axle in front of the dropouts.
Says 26x2.4 on the tire. The rims I think are 33mm inside, just a guess. But still wider than most modern 26" performance type rims. So that makes them a touch wider too.

I had thought I'd move them to the Kona SS eventually. But I don't think they'll fit past the brake bosses on that bike. So they are staying right where they're at.

Caliper reads right at 2.5" at the widest lugs...or just a hair under.

Not calling it a wrap just yet.
Might still lace in a water bottle holder on the lower seat tube with the stuff I used on the top of the seat tube.
And will swap in an aluminum kickstand from the Lady's Windsor Kennsington-8 as soon as I locate my 8mm allen wrench.

But wanted to give some closing credits.

Lady's Schwinn Cruiser Four donated the Shimano Nexus-4 IGH'd wheelset, shifter, and cable

'71 Schwinn Suburban provided the crank, chainring, and bottom bracket. And will eventually give up it's shifter mount for Virginia's headlights.

Late 80's Asahi Shredder really helped pull it all together with the stem, layback seatpost, Redline seatpost clamp, saddle guts, and alloy pedals

The famous Campisi's Greek/Italian restaurant. Well not the Campisi's. But a Campisi's.

Half dozen guys on motorized bicycles and a homemade 3-wheeler with lawn mower engine cruisin downtown. Two bicycle cops on the far left

Deep Ellum.
My old stomping grounds... many, many, many moons ago.
A famous live music venue, Club Dada.

Another long time establishment, The Free Man

The place this three story building used to be, was my regular stop. First floor was quiet, people sitting at tables. Second floor was pool, dance floor, loud music. The roof, anything goes.

Southside of downtown is Fuel City. Real live pet longhorns and donkeys penned up on a couple or so acres. And best tacos in town. Everyone goes there

And I think Bigfoot bent my seatpost.

Gotta rig up some sort of support from the top of the dropouts to the top of the seatpost.
I got a few 7/8 seatpost clamps, so I can pick one to mod for the top of the seatpost, as an attaching point. Just need a couple pieces of stainless tubing to make the struts.

Or just get another layback post and add reinforcement internally.
