Mid 1990s mtb id help

I've had this bike so long I don't even remember what it originally was. Purchased in mid 1990s and I'm eying a rebuild this winter. Including pics of serial # from underneath BB. Has a very faded american flag logo on seat post tube. Appreciate any help!

Looks like a Univega or Diamondback, but the American flag would not be displayed on either of those.

I was thinking 'goose, but couldn't find a ringer for it. With the Taiwan sticker on the BB, I bet the flag sticker said 'designed in the USA'.

I have a local who claims it is a Marin Nail Trail, I've reached out to Marin with the serial to confirm. Thank you for the help!

I think your local is in the ballpark. The serial isn't quite Marin-ish, but close... probably a 1996. That flag sticker states something along the lines of, 7000 series USA Alloy.

I'd agree on the 96 based on that third digit. Retrobike has several topics on Marin serial number decoding.

Well, here's an aluminum Trail Nail, seller claims it's 7000 series aluminum, it's got that same canti bridge as yours, and the flag badge too
