For me and my Midriff-ter build, this is like Christmas Eve..... the bike frame is coming tomorrow!

I'm giddy with glee!

Here's a teaser shot from the fb marketplace ad, in case you forgot what it looks like....

Rocky Mountain High.jpg

So I googled 'old blue truck with faux-tina' and a few images came up....

Think of the cab top and the front grill surround as my handlebars and stem...

And then taking down the intensity of the Rocky Mountain frame with the first spray coat, and then adding some rat-tina from the top of the frame down, kind of like that truck above, and this one I posted on my first page...

Santa's Coming ! Santa's Coming!

Here is a comparison of the 27.5 x 2.35 tires mounted to my wheels and the 27.5 x 2.8 for the front wheel / tire for Midriffy.

And then the front 27.5 x 2.6 on the rear. It's taller than the 2.8 in the front, at least visually.

Such a cool paint job. With those extra tall tires and 27.5s I bet it is one smooooooth ride. I love the control of the wide bars. Hard to hit the dirt without them for me.
Can't wait for the headset to arrive on Friday. I'll have the drivetrain installed and brakes tomorrow; but I don't have any oil or a bleed kit, so may have to bribe one of our mechanics.

Otherwise I'm good to go for my first 'dirt'...

First off, assemble all parts I currently have. Then do an 'age fade' with rattle cans on brand new Rock Shox stickers.

Such a cool build! All the patina work looks amazing. I would never have thought to do the stickers like that but it really works. Nicely done! :113:
