Picked up this Monark tank bike several months ago and haven't really came up with a plan, So i was thinking a real rider something i can put a few miles on and use the bike path that's about a block behind my house. So i came across an add on CL for a 65 CCM Galaxie 26" women bike that has front and rear brakes and a 3-speed hub, plus cool looking grips and fenders to boot so for $20 i got it. The front fork on the monark was bent bad and has a nasty cut so its out and the CCM fork is in with bars and brakes!! The rear 3-speed rim with a will work better for hills. I was going to cut and weld the frame with some mods but decided to leave it stock, i did add a bracket so the rear CCM brake could be used, also added fins to the rear rack, laid back the seat post, recovered the old Ross seat i had, painted it with rustolium red/black metallic. Got a woman's monark that had a good light and horn/light switch so i used all of that along with the kickstand and crank and chainring. The CCM front brake would not work so had to find a front brake caliper that had the cable going in from the bottom so it would not hit the light. All in all happy with it for what i have in it.
