I have a some vintage 26 inch MTB wheels that I got for free. Going to have to do something with them sometime.

They don't classify this as a mountain bike anymore, but it does everything I ask, always ready more

I finally got a proper mountain bike. 1999 Trek with front suspension.

Originally I built this one as a single speed . I think it’s an old Univega frame I painted years ago . IIRC
Had some wind the other day and between the wind , hills , and my age , I decided to build it into a hill climber .
1X8 with a 30 tooth chainring and a 11-34 cassette.
Any hills I can’t climb with this one , I’ll get off and walk .🤣

I took the “Vega” out for a spin this morning.
Rode into town knowing I had two nice hills to get out of the neighborhood.
The first one is lengthy with a good rise on top . I ended up in low gear , spinning up the hill at around 5.5mph . Nice !
Then it’s a right turn into the second hill that’s steeper but shorter , I was able to top it in third gear .
I‘m going to enjoy this bike .
Ended up with a nice 10 mile ride .
Stop at the ball field for a quick picture .

I missed yesterday's retro mtb group ride because I needed to sleep in. But I met up with some of the guys after for a few beers and a chat, and to check out their rides:

Then I went to a proper rock concert for the first time in over 1½ year :D
