It doesn't fold so much as it breaks down.

Seems like they only made these for a short time in the sixties.

It's kind of neat...

Lets see,
using 54 t front sprocket and 13 t rear sprocket (original)

54 tooth/13tooth = 4.15 wheel revs per crank rev x 16"= 66 gear inches

I usually like to keep single speed CB bikes in the 50 gear inch range.
So if you changed out your front sprocket with a common 44 t:

44 tooth/13tooth = 3.38 wheel revs per crank rev x 16"= 54 gear inches

A Wally world kids bike 32 t sprocket would yield a nice around town hill climbing ratio:

32 tooth/13tooth = 2.46 wheel revs per crank rev x 16"= 39 gear inches

Sport Touring Steep hills 27-37
Medium hills 32-42
Flat 37-47
Road Racing Steep hills 47-60
Flat to rolling 57-66
Mtn bike Steep hills 17-20
Technical trails 17-20
Dirt roads 20-27

No problem. I think some of these bikes came incredibly tall geared from the factory. Maybe that's why we find them in good shape sometimes - they just were to much of a workout to ride!

It looks more like a Monark chain wheel. Roadmasters like that were skip tooth, nearly the same design though.
