Murray Meteor Flite... Rat Rod

Here's a bike that I picked up at the Long Beach motorcycle swap meet last sunday.
It's a Murray Meteor Flite. I bought it just because it looked really kewl with that fork & down turned bars. (if anyone knows what kind of fork that is?, please let me know.)
I don't think the frame is real valuable, so I'm thinking of chopping it up & making a 'dragger' lowrider out of it. 8)

Several people have run them like that for the looks , but they all say it makes the forks kinda not work right. You might try them the other way and see if it rides better. If not it does look cooler.
