A place for photos and descriptions of your bikes. Well, alrighty then.
Gotta start somewhere. I have a rather eclectic collection of bikes, and they're always changing.
I've done a lot of refurbishing of bikes last couple of years...ones that I find interesting...oddly enough, haven't done a true rat rod yet, but then again, I just recently started to " build" bikes, so I'm sure one will appear
I wasn't sure to use 'fresh finds' , or "builds' section. So this will be an ongoing little bit of everything. No particular order.

Laying in parts for the better part of a year now, I finally put the '99 Huffy Hermosa Pro Beach cruiser together..What a great ride...I love this bike. 6 spd. , original paint complete with dings and chips (only polished). The fenders were surface rusted, and they cleaned up well. Only have to recover that seat, and we'll call this one done.

80s something Schwinn Ladies Collegiate. This is from about 2 yrs ago now... I forget exactly what year this one was. I did paint this one, threw a fresh set of gumwalls on it. I didn't put any original decals back on it...wish I had now....it sold.

K2A...(Kids to Adult) from last Spring $0 Build Off. I lengthened the rear dropouts, also the fork to accept some S7 wheels off of an old Spitfire. Made the back rack off of some decorative iron thing I found at the Thrift. Added an old wooden apple box that I found on the side of the road.
It was a fun little build. Those weird bars were off of a child's swing set.

And, here's what the K2A was born from...some little dept. store BMX bike it had a nice solid fat tubular frame.....

Pretzelogic. After the $0 Dollar build off was over I cut up the K2A above and turned it into this fun little ride. So the K2A lives on in a new form. Mostly I built it to practice and hone my welding skills. I just stood back and the first name that came to me was Pretzel Logic. you know. like the Steely Dan song
Went for a long fork on this one. The bars were xtended from two sets of BMX bars I had laying around. And, I built that layback seat post from an old one piece crank. Put on a small front chainring.
This little bike really hauls some a&&

A Long Tale. from the recent BO11. No need to go into details, they're all down bottom in the build thread link if you want to see how it was built.
Always wanted to build a longtail , but I didn't feel like 'bolting' one together. So as my confidence grew with stickin' tube together I decided to finally just do it already....and to enter the build off as well. Glad I did...what fun.

and note, it didn't start life as a tandem bike...it was originally a 90's Huffy Mtn Bike..complete with rusted off rims...that I rescued from a local 'scrapper'...

Your builds are always cool and interesting, looking forward to seeing what you build next with you welding skills getting better and better!

Luke.

Thanks Luke....been lacing up some wheels, or practicing I should say...to open up that skill....made a couple of home made bike tools..all stuff I found on this site.
I'm really a spare part, found art, late start kindof builder. lol
Not a showroom bike builder, mostly due to lackafunds.
Always the scrounger

Love perusing the pics of your build to date...your build style always setting the bar for the rest of us my friend
 franco

Lacing wheels is fun, I enjoy it but held off learning for years because I was a little scared of it, seemed like it was more art than science...

Just trying to share ideas!
I have posted some of my stuff on Instructables hoping someone else who build some fat wheels, but no takers yet!

Luke.

I've seen your stuff up on the Instructables site...that's pretty cool
I could get lost for hours on that site...not just bikes...lot's of interesting stuff

Your fat wheels are art and a whole lotta science...I wouldn't even begin to grasp how to calc. the spoke length Luke.
He!!, I took apart a wheel last week to practice and it was two days of WTF It wouldn't come together...then I finally noticed there were two different spoke lengths...not cuz of a drive side hub difference, they were the same., but I read that on some wheels inward spokes are longer than outward spokes.(or maybe I have that backwards)...(but not on 'all' wheels)...depends on the hole spacing...confusing enough??? geez..
anyway... tried that..and it came right together......it's still mysterious...but yeah..once you get started and get on it it opens a whole new chapter.

Lukes Tricycle when he was a little kid

Micargi Tahiti beach cruiser....not sure of the year.
Roadside find...freebie. It needed a lot of cleaning up..and had a lot of trouble with the fork...not sure if it was hit or bent or what.

I ended up putting a suspension fork on it from some bike the neighbor gave me...I think it was from a Magna.....after I trued up the front wheel, it ended up being a pretty nice cruiser. Had two FAT BLACK fenders on it...which I kept for parts...cuz...never know ?
It Sold

Of course , I had a lot of fun redoing this old '57 ladies Spitfire
I did a paint job on it, because whoever had it previously rattle canned the entire bike with silver paint..I'm talkin' the entire bike...so I took the bike all apart... rubbed and wooled that silver spraybomb out, serviced every moving part... and then decided to repaint while it was stripped, there was no remarkable old paint to salvage........

I had this up on CraigsL for I think 100 bucks (cheap)...it looked great and rode so sweetly...nothin'..not a nibble....so, I did end up parting most of it out on EEbay....
I still have the frame and wheels and S7 tires....prob'ly do something with that frame someday. It's rugged.

Nice looking rebuild. Tubes lined up well, clean design. Good going.

I have a Project Rwanda Velo Ikawa that was intended to haul 400 pounds of load.

Hey Rick
Yeah, building the longbike was a kick....got that out of my system.
I checked out that Velo Ikawa...what a beast.I love it...Is it a geared bike?
I think if I was to modify the LongTale, I would add a freewheel or even lace up a 3 speed hub... would be fine. It's basically just a loooog single speed...rides nice, but if I got it loaded it'a little hard to git goin'...

Yes, my Velo Ikawa (Coffee bike) is geared. Stock 1x7 twist shift & sram 7 speed in the rear, single chain ring with dual guards on the front to keep the extra long chain from jumping off. The bike was designed for bumpy dirt path use. 48 spoke 26" rear wheel with wide knobbies. Yep, rides like a truck. Takes a while to get up to speed but it rolls nice.
read more about it here:

Looks like it rides great!

Luke.

Once it gets going....;) hard to get started , it's all of that too much trail or rake stuff that I don't really understand that well.
too much trail I think on this bike, not as much problem on a chopper motorcycle, cuz you have the power of the engine to get going.....it wants to wobble back and forth till I get up to speed under peddle power.
