Found bike out for trash pickup: Greenbriar Free Spirit
10/16/2016
I often forget to take 'before" pics. So here it is as found. Going to leave a spot for after cleanup.
This is a nicer older and very sound bike...put a rack on the back...and college students snap them up in a hurry in this town for commuting on campus. Because...Hipsters. :)

Got this one cleaned up, fully service and adjusted and ready for it's photo shoot for CraigLIST Nice Univega Rover XCU 18 spd. I believe it's 1990-1991 ? somewhere right around there from info I researched. Paint is faded but it rides as smooth as can be. Comfy seat is not original, but good quality from a Hunter Bike.

Keep your eyes on the curb when it's trash pick up day. Found this one the other day...serviced ground up. Ready to rock and roll.

Nice tall seatpost and full size crank arms make it easy for big boys to ride it too. It's not just for kids anymore.

was headed out the other day to look at a bike...and walked smack into this car show in the parking lot....needless to say...this old rat rod was 'best of show' to me, anyway. Sweet !

One of the original Trailmate Trikes.....DeSoto....bought this right down the street about a year ago...older couple had passed away, and the daughters were in town having an 'estate' sale....One of the daughters told me her late dad purchased it brand new when they first came out. I see that the original Trailmates were started here in Florida late 70s, so I'd say 1980 to err on the safe side of dating it..
Anyway...broke it all down, cleaned any rust and scale..decided to leave the multi layers of house paint.. I kinda like the look on this one... all lubed, serviced, waxed...Rides as smooth as silk

'84 Schwinn World.
This one has been sitting back in ol' shed #2 for a while now. It has all of the original components, according to what I read in the 1984 Schwinn catalog. I don't know about the seat...of course, but it's a Schwinn seat.
Not really sure what to do with this one, I did get in the mood and cleaned it up "again" the other day...the paint is called 'Warm Silver' and for the age of this bike, it's in Excellent shape. Bought a new chain & new tires for it...serviced all bearings and moving parts...This is a great ride, shifts smoothly through all gears, and man, it really can haul some-assz.

And...since most of my bike business is about servicing and cleaning up 'regular' bikes to sell, or flip, I couldn't pass up these two $10 specials.
Schwinn Riverside Ladies Cruiser, 7spd. rear. About 3 hours of cleaning, compounding , waxing...but also most of that time was spent just getting the rust off of any of the new Scwhinn 'chrome'....and this bike is what? couple of years old...pathetic...but, the tires alone...they still have the nibs on them. Looks like someone got it , rode it around the block and parked it outside. I'll put some other tires on it, keep these new ones for a build.
Just got to repack the bearings and adjust the der. and it's ready for the CL photoshoot.

And...this Roadmaster Mtn' Bike..ditched the dérailleurs, and a bunch of sprockets off of the freewheel.get rid of the garrish Roadmaster decals Now, it's a nice riding SSpeed.

Oh..I also got a 10 dollar Murray Monterey cruiser..older one..mens bike...Finally, a blue one..yaaay., I have a couple others I did, always in that Murray funky red that fades to an awful sortof pinkish red metallic color, unless it's the original color, I don't know. No picture of this one...but it's a cool bike.

Just when I said I won't pick up any more bikes for a little while too...sheeeesh.
