I finished up paint on the 37 yesterday but she just needed something else, decided to see what a couple of pinstripes would look like on er. Been stripeing cars for many years but never done any of my bikes. Here's what I came up with, I also have a couple sets of really cool fork darts on the way I'm gonna use on the two top tubes, now if my brass headbadge would only get here. :D After all, all the picture shows from the 30's are in black and white, whatta you guys think?

Thanks, i'd really concidered painting them on, be alot of masking though, I may end up doing it later. Wish I had the hand with a brush that good ole Hot Rod Jen has.

Looks good! When the time comes I'll get a swordtip brush and a can of One-Shot and practice a bit on an old phonebook and do some lines on one of my bikes.

Thanks fellas, Its actually pinstripe tape. I tryed to lessen the gap of the rear fender with washers and a larger nut and it actually buckled the fender, I would have to space the top bolt under the brake bridge and that wouldn't look right, its not the original fender to the bike and doesn't fit exact.

Carbon, I have been striping cars at dealerships since 1980. How did you get the vinyl to stick to the flat paint. That usually doesnt work. I have painted all my bike stripes on, but masked it with fineline 3m tape, then Testors enamel. I cant freehand worth a darn....

Its actually different from the thin 3m style that you would usually use on a car, its thicker, I bought it from the local Autozone, my local Napa store was closed, thats where I usually get the good 3m stripe from. The paint is more of a smooth satin finish and this tape actually sticks to it really good. She'll be stayin in the garage or the den so no worry about the elements, should stay for a good long while.

Exactly what the bike needed....blends perfectly with the seat piping and whitewalls.

Ah, yeah I have had that problem a few times myself. I ended up leaving the fender and got a half link for the chain and moved the wheel forward a little.

Thanks sleepy, Outskirtscustoms I wish I could find a rear fender that lines up and fits correctly, I wonder if one of the wide one's from the early 50's Schwinns would fit :?:
