Alan Bonds was one of the guys making those original klunkers. He's got a website listing the build specs for a bunch of the old bikes.

yup been to that web site lots of grate info on it.

: tracking shows two more days and it's here. Then I can start deciding. if frames good enough to buff / shine what's left of the paint out, or maybe to far gone to save.. so strip and paint it my self or send to C4 labs for sand blast and powder coat it. 🤔 can't wait to see it up close in person 😁

I am thinking drum brake up front rear 3 speed coaster. unless there is a 3 speed internal hub with drum brake. old Araya rims. then maybe depending on price factory Schwinn trust fork. or the true torch made
Cook Bros BMX inspired tribute forks.

seat will be a Brooks leather one. seat post is the stock Schwinn that arrives with frame

cranks maybe Takagi 1 PC I have or some old Fuji 170 alloy 3 piece Cranks.

Suntour XCII pedals. not sure on tires. stem just a old Schwinn type or Sugino or other 70's style BMX stem. brake levers I have there off a old 60's / 70's MX dirt bike.

moved 8 bikes then went digging threw boxes and my big Crafts man tool box found a BB adapter that will work and some LEE CHI levers I yanked years back off a moped some one put out on trash day. they may work on this build

still waiting on frame. it got delayed from delivery last night. found a old Elgin seat post I had ben using to hammer out bearing cups. over the years. cleaned up the hammer chips/ smashes on the grinder. made a tool out of drinking straws. to clean out the spider eggs and dirt.. cool part. is bottom of post looks slim enough to fit Schwinn seat tub. but it gets fatter 2 inch and a half at top. to fit standard seat guts. saves me trying to find the old Schwinn seat guts. or making a shim I hope. will not know till frame arrives and try to fit it. . if not shim the bent/ laid back seat post that ships with frame.
