I got my work cut out for me but this thing is cool enough to keep me motivated. The inside is really nice it's mainly just some rust repair, cleaning, and flushing the fluids and getting her running again.

Spent ALL DAY cleaning out mouse nests, old paper, plastic bags and tree debris from under the hood, cleaned the inside and gave it a good wipe-down with a rag and hose. Put a battery in it, a little gas down the carb and it runs! It needs some rust repair but it'll be a fun project.

head room is ridiculous! This is fully seated with my arm straight up elbow locked, and I can barely touch the headliner.

My wagon looks so small next to this tank.

Huh. That makes me wonder how good a hearse would be as a camper.

Well guys the hearse turned out to be a flop, the floors are shot, the b pillars are rusted bad enough to remove them with no cutting, the frame is shot so it got parted down to break even and it's getting scrapped. I am getting a new wagon to ease the pain though. A friend found it thinking it was a Caprice wagon like mine but soon as I saw the vista roof I knew it was not a Caprice but I fell in love and had to have it. Turns out to be a more rare Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser, one owner since new, all documentation and service records, all factory original except for a new engine put in by the dealer (Have to look at papers to find out when). Has a few small issues such as a leaking trans cooler line and needs a brake master cylinder (have 2 good ones from my caprice and hearse) and has sat for a few years so will need tires but we struck an agreement for $500 and I couldn't be happier. Probably dragging it home in a week or so. Got to get what's left of the hearse out of the yard and gone and give her time to straighten out the paperwork (still in her parent's name who are now deceased but no biggie) so soon my Caprice will have a new friend to hang with.

Shame about the hearse! The Caprice is still my favorite though.

Luke.
Mine too but just give it time, the Caprice started out much like this, a neglected old wagon that needed saving. I'm keeping the Olds pretty much factory though, too rare to monkey around too much with it. They were only made for a year and a half ('91-'92 and 12,010 units) From what I hear there were less than 100 factory gold Olds Custom Cruisers. BOTH these will be keepers.

Now just need to find a 1991 Buick Roadmaster wagon and my set will be complete... then I can start collecting the sedans to match...lol

Went and paid off my Vista Cruiser today, waiting for the previous owner to find the keys and title to come in from BMV but have proof it is mine and it's paid off in full. Might be another few weeks to get it home unless I get the brakes working. Running tight on cash but I have a cool car so it's ok.:D I also took more pics!!!

Original right down to the dealer sticker!

I got the Goldsmobile home today! I was also VERY pleased to also get every shred of paperwork from day one to the day it was parked including owner's manual, sales brochures, letters from the dealer thanking them for their purchase, original window sticker!, service records which prove it was 90% dealer maintained everything else done at Midas or Napa. And did I mention the original window sticker! Anyone care to guess what this car cost new???

Anyway I got it towed home (still can't find the keys) and started with some light cleaning. This thing had some really funky black grime all over it so I am removing the layers and getting her down to her former glory. There is some light clear coat peel but with a good buffing and some new clear I think it will look good. There are some spots that need attention before they get worse so a full re-spray will be in the future. Keeping the same color just renewing it. Anyway to the pictures!!!

Then a rinse

Looks good from afar but far from good looking. Needs a good buffing.

Folded the 3rd row seat up and I was amazed, I don't think anyone ever looked at it let alone sat in it. This is BEFORE any cleaning.

Happy wagons.

Went to BMV today to renew my plates on the Caprice and transfer the title for the Olds and so I went ahead and got plates on the Olds too. Did some more cleaning and bought a refurbished battery for now. The Olds runs amazing. They both got a good scrubbing and detailing.

I have the airbag just had it out to replace the ignition.

Well got the Olds wagon's ignition finished, got it running, need to get a new radiator as it's leaking but it's not that expensive, and I got it plated so it's ready to go soon as I get the radiator fixed.

I heard there was a tornado in kokomo today, I hope all is well.

Yep, all is OK at my house didn't even blow over my plastic lawn furniture. Some buildings on the south side were demolished though. So since my last visit I got the Oldsmobile on the road, new radiator, belts, hoses, had keys made for the doors, new ignition, new turn signal cams, a good tune up, and swapped my rims and tires from the caprice on to the Oldsmobile, got rid of the caprice to my mechanic for helping me get the olds squared away, broke up with my girlfriend after 5 years, just quit rural king after being there a little over a year, had a few more bikes, building a few more, and still kicking.

Here she is in all her glory my custom cruiser "Goldilocks "
