Thank you!

She’s a 7-channel, cutter rigged ketch, that took me a little over 2-years from design concept to final build. Each sail is individually tuned, and the rudder and keel fin are made from aircraft aluminum. And no, she does not depend upon an electric motor for propulsion; strictly wind-on-sails!

Named her: "Primera"

Any plans for El Segundo?

None, I’ve been sailing her for over 15-years and she’s as good today as when she was first launched; a well balanced and esthetically pleasing one-off, indeed – if I can say so myself.

"Primera" on her stand, note that her rudder is missing; it is being updated and should be finished by early next week - hopefully!

“Primera” with her updated inverted ‘T’ rudder installed. The addition of a hydrofoil rudder canted at ~7-degrees was needed to help control Pitch and to increase the rotational axis of momentum (in other words: to act as a torque force multiplier on the rudder) when tacking and jibing.

However, Mother Nature will have the last word on this design when she is put in the water to see if it’ll work as planned. Stay-tuned!

Finally a way to use a upside down photo
properly . But it’s not the Schwinn that’s for sale. Stevil

Wait, is that ~1993 Giant Innova in MC Hammer pants purple with silver streaks?! My most comfortable and versatile bike started out as one of those:

SummerStreets NYC: Saturdays August, 4th,11th and 18th 2018

The first three Saturdays in August are when this event occurs; I’ve attended several of these and they are awesome! Displays, games, activities galore, demo rides on the latest rides, etc. and it’s all on-the-house; a fun filled family/friends series of events, good times indeed!

We can make this a Fri/Sat and ride on Saturday from 7AM till it ends at 1PM

Are you driving and taking your bike, too? Getting a place to stay?

Day trip; I leave at 4AM, ditch the car and ride my 7-speed Schwinn Sting-Ray in my home town of Manhattan - just like I did when I was a kid during the 60's with my childhood friends and their muscle bikes! (Sometimes we would ride into Brooklyn or take the ferry to Staten Island!)

7 speed stingray?

Yes, this is my 7-speed BFK; back then however, I had a '67 Schwinn Sting-Ray Deluxe w/springer and 2-speed kickback hub in Coppertone, she was a great bike!

does you bike club have any shirts for sale?
We don't; we're not that formal, however, it doesn't mean that won't have them in the future. We first have to develop a club patch before we can print a "T" shirt.

This is what love, when applied, looks like; thank you all, for making this the very special occasion it was for Lisa and me.

When you showed me that boat and were explaining the process of building it and the mechanical engineering involved and everything else that you did to perfect it, I had only one thought and it was "Damn, That is so cool! I wish I was smart enough to understand what you were saying" I feel like your detailed description of all the different parts and how they worked was so utterly lost on me and it made me sad :( Anyway, that boat is way cool! Can we take it out on the Enfield ride? :D
