I am glad to finally post. I became interested in building a rat rod, and found the site. I am blown away by all the cool Rat Rod Bikes in the Gallery, I have seen them all many times. It really got the juices flowin. I won a bid on eBay for a Schwinn 1950 straight bar frame - I believe it's a Panther. Love the look of a springer and won an incomplete Hawthorne beehive. Since I have minimal parts, and figured it would be cheeper to buy a parts bike, I did - a '50s something Hawthorne girls bike. Now, I am mocking it up. I didn't have the bike when the build off began, but making progress now and hope to post some pics soon. I have picked up some great information here.
