Greeting to everyone,
Just Greg here, from the South Bay area of California, think San Jose, Sunnyvale.
I have to quantify myself as a "maker" since I usually end up thinking "why buy when you can build" then invest in a double fortune of tools.
I started working on bikes when I was 12 or so, worked for my grandfather ( a real live "junkman") fixing up klunkers, schwinn stingrays, cruisers, and some 10-speeds to sell off at the swap meet. Went through a lot of WD-40 as the old man thought it was a gift from the gods.
Now I do a little of everything, woodwork, welding (Oxy Acetylene, Stick, MIG, and TIG, sort of suck at all of them but keep trying) watch modding, and of course still tinkering with bikes.
My regular ride is a bobbed fendered Electra cruiser, my beloved wife rides a 47 Rollfast I resurrected, I also have a single speed road bike of various lineage, and a 84 or 85 Bob Jackson with a full compliment of Campagnolo.
Last but definitely not least is a Peek cycle frame, that I've been converting into a lowrider cruiser Rat. This has been a long build that includes: Wide rims respoked with heavy spokes, the frame cut and bottom bracket flipped to allow for more crank length, home paint job, and a few other mods on the docket.
anyway nice to join up with like minded builders and aficionados.
