Parting a bike will sadly almost always make more money. But in the end there are more fees from paypal and ebay, in this case anyways. But had he sold the bike complete, I'd imagine he'd have gotten no more than $1200. Sold in pieces, I'm counting over $1400 just in main parts, not including little bolts and tiny bits he sold. I don't know, sometimes it's hard to see from outside. Maybe he needs money badly. Not everyone can be so passionate about bikes as many of us are. I couldn't part it myself, but really that's only because if I had the chance to build a prewar elgin, it would look just like that.
