I found a very interesting European BMX from 1980. This bike is very unique. I don’t know much about it but I’m interested to hear your feedback. Here is a list of cool features.

Btw - I just had it powder coated and I’m waiting for brake cables to complete. Currently I have different bars, Seatpost and seat.

1. Dual drum brakes
2. Oversized Frame tubes
3. Brake levers welded to bars
4. Internal rear brake cable
5. Fork has dual dropouts.
6. Michelin BIB-CROSS tires
7. Italian Grips
8. Original Seat is very interesting.

I…. I’m not a BMX guy. But that thing is cool!

does it have any value? I’ve got a friend who flips BMX bikes, and I’m stunned at some of the $$$$ he gets for them. -in about any condition! He sells them quick too.

the drum brake mags are epic. Are they (the whole bike too) heavy?

I have no idea on its value but I’m pretty sure it’s worth less than I spent after powder coat. The bike was a little beat up and the cost was low. I paid around $150. The shipping cost from France was pricey. $300 for powder Coat. This stuff is fun. It’s a hobby, not a business for me. I do the same thing with motorcycles. I’ll make an old Triumph look and run great, then sell it for a loss…;). Then I’ll do it all over again. Here is my latest cruiser that is worth less that I spent restoring it. But I love it.

We’re singing from the same hymnal! As I view every Bike as a hobby and not an investment, I have a manufacturing background and dag-gum, I do try to keep my costs somewhat under control with the general value of the bike. (I will spend with less ‘conscience’ on the summer build off)

you are spot on regarding the expense and the hobby: fun trumps cost, and compared to other hobbies, for the most part, this is relatively cheap and the building can be done at home so you‘re not too far from family and friends.

Those are "band" brakes not drum! Your bike is from the very early '80s, you'll have to cruise BMX Museum to figure out which one it is.... but cool!
BMX collecting isn't about the $$$ unless you're an unscrupulous reseller.
LBS was closing, had a going out of business contest. "Best wheelie" was rewarded a 1984 SE Thrasher. Not what the kid wanted but I traded it for a brand new SE Ripper 9r. The Thrasher got hung above the guys pool table, the kid on the Ripper learned how to wheelie walk and will be until he's 21 because he's lost the rights to a driver's license for riding wheelies....but he's happy!
 
That's unbelievable! How are the two connected? You can't wheelie in a car!
Florida law states "two wheeled vehicles" & in Clearwater Florida swerve wheelie riding the Tourists is really looked down at....get a dui drinking or smoking down there on a bicycle! (And don't think of running, couple their guys look like Olympic weight lifters, ON POLICE BICYCLE!)

I appreciate your correction on the brakes. The original owner said he received it on his 10th bday. 1983.

Cool score. That logo on the stem pad looks a lot like a Puch logo. Austrian company but I’m certain that they could have outsourced Italian components. Either way, it’s really cool.

I picked it up on Etsy. There’s a guy in there and he has a store called DollarMotorcycle. He’s in France and is a biker. He purchased the bikes from the original owner. The owner received the bike on his 10th bday. It was 1983. I have spent a little time online and found the Cinzia folding bikes. Look at the 1982/early eighties folding Cinzias, you will see the same head tubing and headset. The frame has curves just like a looptail frame. The other Cinzia bikes on BmX museum are not looptail. I think It’s called a Trial.

There is a second bike and it’s obvious related . It’s a Motobecan with Skyway type wheels, the same band brakes, the same original bars with welded brake Levers. It’s selling for $140? Shipping is the big cost
