i need to make a bracket to hold a Bowden cable. the bracket is only to guide the housing and hopefully 2 screws tapped (6-32). there will not be a great deal of stress applied to it.

i could get by making it from hardwood, but would like to try a RTV silicone mold and pouring it out of some type "Lab-Metal" product. the finished piece will only be 20mm x 20mm x 60mm.

any suggestions on the material i could use? i would prefer something i could sand to a polished surface.

thanks

hah! well don't i feel the dolt. couldn't believe someone hadn't run into this before so i started snooping the web for Peugeot mixte pictures.

after i cut about 3 cm off the housing and connected it to the brake (=tension), the whole thing settled down and looks so much better. after dialing in the stem height and another go-round of adjustments, i figure everything will be as it should.

quite a guy, i tell ya ...
