Opinion on color?

Just thought I'd ask what your opinion is on the paint job I did today. Not sure if I like it or not but it's growing on me. It is krylon Xmetals red anno over flat black. Kind of subtle red hue that looks like very old patina.

A little hard to see, but looks like a dark purple? Not bad.

That's a good description of it actually, I tried my best to capture it in the picture but my phone's camera isn't perfect. To me it's kinda like that rust that is over 100 years old and it turns a reddish black brownish color. I'll try to get some better pictures tomorrow.

Is it a kind of red tinted clear coat? I haven't seen it before. Red anodized? It does look cool over the black. Def.

That would look trick with a nice slick coat of clear over top of it.

Yep, It is meant to go over chrome and create the look of anodized parts.

Well I took your advice and it is looking sweet, I still have to throw down a few more coats and wet sand it out but I am liking the look of it. Looks black from a distance but when you get up on it and get just the right light it comes to life, Just as I was putting it away I saw the angle and caught it on camera!

Thanks, not bad for dollar store flat black, krylon Xmetals red, and krylon clear, all in all about a $10 paint job. Once I wet sand it it should look a bit better but I'm saving that for later when I break down the wheels for paint.

Actually going to clean the chrome and anno paint them red. Kinda modernized rat rod look.

The kid down the road has a stock Bratz low rider so I took the opportunity to get a before/ after picture.

Also got a lot of the rust off my bike and put on that set of mirrors I had laying around.

Kinda similar to that "Chameleon" paint...but alot less painful on the wallet..I like it...red anodized on the wheels is going to be really sharp...nice job !!
