Well after a few weeks on the for sale section without a bite I have decided to start yet another project. I guess I will just fiddle with this one every now and again as I am in no hurry.

Back when I was building street rods we, who had the nerve to chop tops on our cars had a saying : "Anyone can restore an old car, but a real man CHOPS them."
Seems to fit here too. Just messing with you over on the for sale threads.

I will be following this.

Ive got an old murry with a tank Im thinking about streching, ill be watching this build.

If we didn't mess 'em up, what would future restorers have to work on? I can see someone on RRB in the year 2032 "unstretching" a stretched bike and being stoked with the results!

haha its funny how possible that maybe.. i mean im only 17, that could happen in my generation

as I get material lined up and decide on parts I am also doing a sister build with my Monark Rocket.. not really feeling these forks but who knows. just bored that day. I think I will do a dual Monark thread . I get very easily sidetracked working on just one.

Tore down the rocket for a deep clean and clear coat. As an experiment I used sea foam to soak the cups and bearings. Worked just fine BUT it worked just as well as paint thinner or gasoline sooo for the cost it was a lesson learned. Scrubbed the frame to get most of the grime off and clear coated it. I think it turned out ok and it has of course made me start dreaming up a parts list for it. I am really diggin the look of the wet rust.

I have looked at all these pictures several times. I see you cut the frame into two parts, To stretch it. But I do not see the clear after view.
Where did you stretch it. Am I missing something here? It looks like the same frame here to me.
Please point me in the right direction to see this change.
Thanks

Nah.. this is a different bike. Kind of the other ones ugly brother. As I was awaiting material for the stretch monark I threw the rust rocket together. As I am working on both at the same time I just posted them in the same thread. sorry for the confusion. The stretch Monark will be getting welded this week sometime.
