That extra bar is strange, but weirdly kind of cool at the same time.
It is weird because I can't think of any reason for it to be there. Luckily it only looks to be tacked in so should be an easy removal.

So I got this unknown Schwinn Stretch cruiser today in a trade. (Mainly cleaning out the storage unit and getting rid of all my excess clutter). Know nothing about it other than it has a Schwinn headbadge, a really fat down tube, and it looks longer in the tail than most other Schwinn bikes I have dealt with. Also has a metal plate over the top tube which looks to be factory or done really well. I threw some wheels on it just to get an idea and it seems like a fun one to play with. I am digging the wheels but need to get more 26 inch tires. I also have a set of coaster brake wheels in a cream color that I may use too not sure yet.

Threadless stem
Posts for V-brakes
Looks to have several layers of repaint

Cool score, but it's not really a stretch. That's the Kokomo model they had at walmart a few years back. It takes 27.5" (29er) tires, not 26. Also you will need to hook up the v-brakes since the rear wheel is not a coaster brake hub.

Here is what they looked like new.

Me too! I think I have a direction I want to go with it... my hometown of Kokomo Indiana once made motorcycles and a local motorcycle shop "Moody Cycle" that is now closed had one on display. These colors and style of decals maybe change to a different font. Make it look like a newer model of Kokomo motorcycle.

Found 2 tires for it today at the flea market! $10 each and brand new in the boxes. Ordered some tubes from eBay along with a pack of 16 bike hanging hooks. Yes 16 bike hangers! So I should have my storage problems remedied. I went ahead and bought 2 kits of 8 all together it was like $75 after tax and shipping. So around $4-$5 each

So today I went to see a guy I've dealt with before and this time he had some goodies. I went after a 1970 Schwinn Fastback and a 26 inch unknown Schwinn men's frame and scored both for a hundred. Then he had a Schwinn Stingray project I scored for $80, few seats for $10 each and 4 sets of ape hangers for $10 each. $240 total then I went and looked at his junk pile and he said man anything in the pile is FREE! GAME ON!!!

After loading up half the pile (mostly early girl's frames but got a tandem frame with nice paint, an early men's frame, few wheels, lots of goodies) we're on our way home with some patina gold. Stopping for the victory lunch now.

Will take pictures later.

Was still hauling them home. Just dropped them off at the storage unit. Here's pics of the haul.
