Thanks! As soon as he said free pile I went full picker and started grabbing frames and making a pile. I went there thinking I was going to buy one or maybe 2 bikes... I came home with 11
I'll bet there's no wear on that bike. The wheel set is probably in new condition. Even the foam on the bars looks good, so it must have been in a garage.
It's a good candidate for a TRM tank or swap in a set of standard wheels and shine it up for a quick sale. It was probably a 300 dollar bike new. Rat Rod picked up a 2001 model some time ago:

I actually plan to part this one out and build up my 1944 CWC with the parts. The gearing should help get this old tank moving nicely. Maybe throw on some mini apes... I think the chain guard would look good on it too. Just not enough money in girl's bikes in my area to mess with unless they are vintage and really nice.
So after talking with the guy I got this bike from I found out that I got the wheels from the exact same pawn shop he got the bike from so these wheels are not only the same type they are the original ones to this exact bike! Evidently they couldn't get tires to fit and swapped out the wheels then sold the bike to him and the wheels to me. Then I buy the bike and swap those wheels on only to find out they belong on this bike. Now to build it!
So I found this today on a bike that I got a while back. I have never seen one before and I'm wondering if anyone knows what it is and what it's worth. It was clamped on in place of a seat clamp and then the seat attached to it. It's like a clamp on seat mount.
Going to get this tomorrow morning. Perfect parts bike for my 68 stingray. This bike will donate pretty much everything but the frame. Fenders, hardware, chain guard, crank and mag sprocket, wheels, maybe the apes, stem, seat will be added to my parts pile (have a green one on order from eBay along with a tall sissy bar), headbadge will be added to my stash, keep the fork as a spare, even the kickstand will be used.
Got it! Perfect parts bike a 1971 Fairlady. A few bolts were frozen solid and had to beat the stem up a little to come out but got it as apart as I need it. Shined up some of the pieces and they will work beautifully on my 68 Stingray. The mag sprocket cleaned up really nicely. I'll take more pictures as I put it together tonight.
So I spotted these two Huffy Santa Fe Twins today and couldn't turn down both for $40. Excellent chrome, decent tires, coaster brake on both, seats are in good shape, one just needs a tube the other is a rider. Looks like they've been sitting for a while but will clean up nicely. Thinking of just parting them down to fix up other rat bikes and add to my parts pile.
Took the front wheels and fenders off and put them on the bike rack.
Found this on marketplace and couldn't pass up the deal. Looks to be a mid 80's Schwinn cantalever frame with straight BMX style fork some wide mini apes and a basket all for $50. This will be an awesome Klunker build for this next spring.
So many possibilities but best used as a strandie. That blue would go nicely with gold ano. Or red ano. Or chrome
I’ve got a white frame like that and I love cruising on it. Check it out
