My sis in law wants her bike redone and painted like this:

I'll give it a try. I disassembled her bike and ordered some parts that will match up to these green and yellow colors. A wheelset, pedals and handgrips. These have red hubs so they are out along with the pedals and grips. The frame only takes the oddball size cups with cotters crankset. So I'm limited there, but otherwise I have free rein to upgrade things. No more coral snake.

Can't wait for you to try that out!

Some upgrades. New tires from a folder I upgraded for the wife. I didn't like the cheap hubs on the new wheels so I ordered a set of hubs to match, before I counted the spoke holes. There's only 32! So I'll make these work afterall and have a spare set of gold hubs. Layback seatpost because the frame is so small. I have the four colors of paint and some clear spray. Now to get some sandpaper.

I adjusted and lubed the bearings on the hubs and added a 16 tooth cog. With the 52 tooth crankset would make it 62 gear inches, about a normal one speed ratio. But the arms might be too long for ground clearance, so I may have to use the 44 tooth with shorter arms, making it easy to pedal at 52 gear inches.

I'm getting ready to paint. The green paint I have looks like a good match. The yellow portion on the example looks like it has green mixed with the yellow so I'll mix a little green with the yellow to try to get the same shade, or very close to it. Then the white and black splatter should be easy.

I have a few more green things and have the yellow tires gtg. Sanding down the frame is tough, I haven't got the motivation. Where are all the kids looking to work for a few bucks like we did as kids? A lawn mower and a snow shovel made a lot of bucks for me back in the day. All I get are the kid's basketball teams coming around for donations.

The scraper worked better than sandpaper, so all morning was spent scraping all the paint off.

I used the clothes hanging rack for the frame painting. The first coat is on and I'm doing it all in green first, then adding the yellow. I think that may give it a greenish tint to the yellow, but I won't know until it dries.

Good choice of components for the color you're aiming for.
