Hey,
So as i said on my intro, i am happy with my electra rat rod. i've had it since june 22nd, 2007.
But i think its time i put the RAT in rat rod. I'll be putting on ape hangers, getting rid of the bell and replacing it with a horn. Other stuff too. I'd apreciate some ideas for my rat rod too, so thanks in advance.

I think you should figure out a way to make that paint and those flames look 40 years old. Take some sand paper and do a few rub throughs here and there, especially on the flames.

yeah i have! i love college cyclery. they got some AWESOME bikes in there.

would it scratch off my black paint though?

you can always add white wall tires. changed the whole look of my straight 8 8)
you could yank the reflectors and emblems, and add a cool set of lights for night rides.
it's gonna be your rat, so you'll never be "done"

love that idea about ripping out that back reflector.

hey guys need advice on lighting: I like the electra torpedo headlights, but i also like the old schwinn "phantom" headlight. yay/nay?
or suggestions for headlights you like?

A Schwinn light would be cool but they take a different style fender. There is a flat recessed spot to fit the battery tray.

Great idea. How about one at the back too to balance it out?
Keep thinking like that and this bike will really stand out.

Hey guys,
well i wish i can say its coming along good, but not really.
its so frustrating, because i am trying to order some stuff off "battleaxecycles.com", but their site is not working. i have tried to get a hold of them, but with no reply from them.
So, all thats new is i got rid of my bell. I thought it was kind of gay, especially because when i would just be riding and go over a small bump, the bell would jingle a little.
so i replaced the bell with a pig horn. i think its cool. check it out below, hopefully i will have some more progress soon. see ya.

What are you trying to buy?
I've found several good sites (at least as far as parts go) recently.
Niagara Bicycles has really good prices on tires and has probably more selection than most.
Bicycle Designer has a lot of neat stuff and I'm finding more sites all the time.
Check out choppersus.com also.
