ok, first correct PM wins a homemade morrow bottle opener

what is the correct size wrench for the axle nuts on a morrow coaster brake rear hub :?: sorry, 'crescent' doesn't count, nor do 'vise grips' or 'channellocks' :( the hub i'm using as reference is a 'Q' model year. just for fun, my contest, my rules, my decision is final- one winner, no whiners. good luck

the correct sized wrench would be the one that fits the axle nut tightly. if the wrench just slips off the nut, or wont fit at all, its the wrong sized wrench.

oh dam, i was surposed to pm the winning answer. am i too late?

metric?! METRIC??!!

Remember- in 1947 the metric system was still a communist plot for world domination and even rates below 'crescent wrench'

I'm pretty sure it's a British Standard thread. Am I right?

Dan

i dunno..... i do know what size the nuts are......

i'll check back later- GO AVS!

metric?! whitworth?! SPANNER!??

so where did the british angle come from?! for goodness sake, it's a MORROW, the Great American Klunker Hub. somebody, anybody, PLEASE answer this correctly and put this sorry excuse of a thread out of it's misery.....

I read danimal's posts and didn't even check back to see what type of hub we were talking about  Darn a.d.d.! If no one has an answer by morning I'll get a wrench on one and get back to you

Well, I had a new departure rim that the nuts were too big for a 9/16, and too small for a 5/8. So I used a 15mm. And it fit perfectly... Which in standard size is 19/32, I believe. But I don't own a wrench that size, so I used the closest equivalant, 15mm.
