I got this bike today and I am super curious to know what it is exactly. I found a serial number under the crank arms that reads "H162617"
Thanks! -Craig
Also lots of bikes were bought/sold in early war years due to gas rationing. It was patriotic - and also necessary -to ride a bike when gas was needed for the troops. Funny how no one sees it that way now.
1941 was a huge year for Schwinn production wise. And by 1943 huge numbers of old bikes were melted down for the metal to be used in the war effort. Gary
