Here are a few of my “secrets”. Of course if I know them they can’t really be secret. The first is to use a mixture of lacquer or clear model paint or clear nail polish and mix it with talcum powder. You paint a thin filler layer to fill gaps in cardboard or wood on models, like the spiral seams on model rocket tubes. This combo will melt into plastic leaving a rough finish. The second is to use a mixture of baking soda and super glue to make a very hard plastic. Be careful as the chemical reaction causes enough heat to burn you. This works to repair broken plastic or gaps in plastic. Use it to repair vintage typewrites or vintage radio boxes. It won’t go anywhere, hard and tough. These small brushes have been perfectly cleaned many times using a Kleenex initial wipe followed by hot water and a circular gentle scrub on a bar of Fels Napha soap. Wash again in hot water and use toilet paper to squeeze out the water. Repeat if you see any color on the TP but you probably won’t. Works on acrylic and oil based paint.
