Here is an aside bulletin. Yesterday at 4 pm an F-16 fighter jet crashed five miles from our cabin in the Hiawatha National Forest. It’s heavily wooded and remote with a lot of lakes and extensive wooded swamps. I felt the crash but I thought it was a truck or a logging operation falling a tree. I was cutting wood with my chainsaw so I didn’t hear it. They found the jet, but not the pilot who ejected. Jets can be herd constantly as they serch. I can also hear a helicopter. I hope and pray they find the pilot ok. Planes have gone down up here and have never been found. The crash site is at Stevens Lake. The nearest Town with a real name is Stuben, population 25, including the suburbs. The only store in Stuben won’t bother to sell you anything, unless your purchase is $25 or more in cash. I used to be able to get an ice cream cone there, twenty five years ago.

There are no news updates but they must have found the pilot because there has been air silence for about an hour.
Der Baron und Ze Hound
I made a lot of progress with Ze Hound's HoppedUp Camel (Sopwith Camel).
First I trimmed down some wings and added them to the side of the McDonalds Snoopy toy. I used more parts frame pieces as struts.
Then I glued the Lil Baron axle and wheels to the front of the doghouse. The Baron model had two machine guns, but I lost one. This turned out to be a good thing, because the single gun in Snoopy's hands is sooooo much better than two on the wings.
Added the wheels to the axle followed by the right wing. Now it's starting to look like something more than a dog house.

I couldn't have Snoopy's ride dragging its butt around like a dawg on a carpet, so I needed to find a way to recreate this rearend from the plane model.
All I had was the oval vertical stabilizer and the chrome wheelie bar. I needed to make the rear wing from a spare one of the quad-decker plane wings.
I am pretty pleased with how well I was able to mesh and modify these parts to work together.
Snoppy's HoppedUp Camel is fairly complete assembly wise. Next I can jump back on Der Baron's head and rig.
No fountains available, but here is a KF photo montage.

The determined look on Snoop's face is perfect with the gun; looks like he's about to squeeze off a few rounds.

Hey KF, considering the size of the model, maybe instead of a fountain, you could 'shoot' Snoopy next to a 'fountain' pen?
