If you know me, you know OJ love to paint; and the sooner the better!
Got some work done between bus routes today. Cut off the witches hat, some Rustoleum Harvest Grape on the Hag and then some chrome 'base paint' on the Drag....hmmmm...what goes well over chrome??

@OddJob , are you planning to use any fava beans and nice chianti?

You've completely lost me on that one.
:confused::oops::rolleyes:

Hannibal Silence of the Lambs quote reference to go along with the skull cap pic from Hannibal

Got a little more paint on late yesterday. Once I get going on a scheme, it's hard to stop. I usually go with my gut feeling on how I want a build to look and then just run with it. More paint in the plan for today. We have a limited time frame up here in the north country for warm, dry, painting days. My workshop will be the garage for the model building. There's a real heater in there that can keep it around 50 - 55 even on the coldest days.

Here's a hint at the 'look' I'm going for on the '32 Ford....

The cab's all taped up and ready to go.

This seems like an interesting concept. I think I'll follow along for a bit.

More progress on the '32. Laying down some fade. We'll see. This is a really small surface to spray with a full sized rattle can, but I had some Metalcast left over from my summer bike build, so I layed down the chrome paint, and the tried a sort of fade with the yellow/green and the red.

I was going for this type of look on the Willys Gasser...

Might need some decals

@OddJob Is the car required to have the Weird Oh and/or Rat Fink elements or can it just be a cobbled together car with a mix of parts? Like the truck that you posted above.^

In person does the metalcast look metally on chromed plastic?

I guess the main idea is to use more than one model kit, and to make something custom from that. The idea was to have kind of a whimsicle, weird, mix so that the end product wouldn't look like a "normal' straight forward model kit.
As I've said, I don't want to discourage anyone fron joining in being this the first time around!

It's pretty 'metally' in person! I cleared it now too, and it's more shiny. I'll see if I can get a better photo in the sun later this weekend.

I doubt if I will join in anyway.
Just wondered because I have a large model car junk yard that I might sell some parts from if anyone is interested. No Weirdo/Rat Fink though.

I know, I know, "Slow down OddJob, it's a long 3 months for the kit bash challenge!"
When I get onto an idea, it's a 'stream of consciousness' kind of thing. If I don't act right away, I lose consciousness.
My 'Hag' is going to be more of an aging Weird Ohs "Sling Rave Curvette" ; that should have had some botox and surgery done a long time ago!

Working with my model airbrush that I got this summer. Blue taped the head and mixed an acrylic yellow with white to get this Straw - blond color. I'm fully set up in my stall of the garage now. And if it's too cold ( 40 degrees fahrenheit this morning, not too cold) I can slide the table and equipment forward and still get my van in the garage.

@Verrt , the paint is not as transparent as it is on the chromed steel. Still has the sparkle and sizzle, but more opaque painted over the chrome on plastic. It's as good as I expected. Keeper.
