I'm painting my Murray Moterey with a satin rattle can (krylon fusion) so far so good. Is the texture supposed to feel rough or do I need to smooth it out with steel wool or something?
It looks great but feels a little rough to the touch.

Try wet sanding it with some 400-600 grit wet/dry paper between coats and finish with a satin clear.
an doing that will also insure a longer life fo your paint I would go with at least 5 coats of clear

Is that Fusion a textured paint?
If it is not sounds like you are spraying it on a little to dry. May need to do a little heavier of a coat but not so much that it runs.

The can says it can be used on metal....so far it looks good. The wet sanding seems to be working ok.....the color looks a little too "army green" than I like but I guess I can do red fenders or something for a pop of color.

It's been over 100 degrees here for 2 weeks. No cold cans here. I followed someone here's advice and got one of those 3 dollar trigger thingys. It made a world of difference. I was never great at spray painting but my bike looks great. No drips, no orange peel. May not be up to professional standards but it's good enough for me.

Even if it has been hot it still helps believe it or not.

Krylon Fusion

Fusion is for plastic, the paint is thicker too. I would personally try a different enamel so you can spray multiple thin layers.
