My Ratters aren't anything to look at at all because
I ride them hard as my transportation....That being said,
have any of you come across a stem/ape combination
that doesnt slip !! These wandering apes are driving me NUTs !
I want to buy about 3 or 4 stems and bars that will work
together and cure the slipping problem on all
of my bikes.
Once they slip it seems to only get worse.

:x :x

When they start slipping its time to get some shims and shim them. Install the shims and loctite the bolts and that should solve your problems.

Great !
Thanks you guys ..
Coincedentally, I got my latest DANSBMX catalogue today !
Im gonna loctite/JBWeld in the meantime...
Coming out of Rutland today with 30 lbs of motorcycle
parts on my back and they slip !!
:(

Very disconcerting...always at the wrong time !! Boo hooo...

I use the threadless stem adapters with bmx and/or mtb stems for all my bikes no problems. In particular a 4 bolt bmx stem with the ape hangers(7/8" bar) that never slip.

The only problem is that some of the Schwinn and other cruiser/bmx headsets have a top nut with an inside diameter of 21.1 mm, the threadless adapters are 22.2. So you may need to do something about that, I just swap in a road threaded top nut as those are always 22.2 ID.

I've used the 4-bolt BMX stem pictured below with no problems:

Chaingang, Aztlan & BikepartsUSA have them available. Any decent local shop ought to have the same or similar item.
