I have repaired old cracked black grips and put in reflectors like you did. I used black Sho Goo to reinforce and fill in the cracks. Black Goo is hard to find. Our Ace Hardware has it and it’s available on line.I’ve been remodeling my work shop the last two weeks may not look like I did though and I’m still not finished . The grips I had where missing the reflectors but I had three that I found while cleaning . You never know what you have when you differ putting things in order . I found things I didn’t know I had still. LoL . It’s not easy putting glass in 90 year old grips. But it’s done. And I found the perfect brake arm clip . As you can see in the last photo I’m still remodeling. . View attachment 218609View attachment 218610View attachment 218611View attachment 218612View attachment 218613
I organize my shop, then winter comes. I throw stuff around digging for parts then run inside to get warm without picking up. In the spring I have a mess to reorganize.Thank you , Organizing the shop has been more work than building all three bikes combined . Plus I’ve been working on several other bikes durring this build off mostly doing outdoor stuff that I couldn’t do once the weather turns to winter. It will be worth it when I’m done with the shop . That being said I don’t think I’ll ever be done with the shop . Lol
Really nice. I’ve never seen an original one with decals so well preserved. Well done indeed.I’m done with this bike at least for the time being . The bike to my surprise is a really great riding bike ! At least you can still move around. Between my model yacht hobby and bicycles my shop is a warren of narrow isles stacked with all sorts of junk. I am on a shop cleaning spree this year, much more so than in years past and am gradually cleaning up the place.I’ve been remodeling my work shop the last two weeks may not look like I did though and I’m still not finished .
