No work or progress on Rockafella, but on a cool side note, @pvwacko did a killer job on the jumbo Screamer banana seat for the Nanner Puddin frame he is building for me.

I was psyched about the progress Paul was making on my nanner, so I went to the shop tonight and tinkered with Rockafella a little.

I roughly mounted the bighit Girvin springer fork.

Then I test fit the Firestone Super Cruiser headbadge.

It looked great, but there wasn't enough clearance with the springer.
So I found another place I could possibly mount it.

Here is a pic to give an idea of what I am thinking with the faux Monark Girvin

I knew these fat 65mm wheels wouldn't clear the brake bosses

So I drilled the rivets out and removed the bosses.

Here is the first mockup with fork and wheels and faux Monark Girvin (sorta)

the Girvin fork legs are fat and not friendly with old fender struts, so I had play around with some wire to get the front fender mocked in place.

About that time, the battery on my cell phone was too low to use a flash. So dark pics from here on out.

And the last of tonight's mockups WITH the Firestone Tank

I like most of it, really dig the springer addition.
Not sure about the tank though. While it does flow with the lines well, it just looks small on the frame.

Your Royal Icthys, I like the Girvin alone I think best. Gets really front-heavy looking with the Mock-ark fork. But then, you don't much on the back end to balance it yet.

The Firestone tank is cool. I wonder if you could 'shroud' it with some metal surrounding it to take up some of the air space between down and top tube? Maybe a cut out of your skirts that would surround the tank underneath?

Just brainstorming here early on a Wed morning...

That nanner is cool! Is that the frame in the pic also?

Looks like you'd have to get the Monark springer tucked in really tight to the Girvin to keep it from messing with the train light which looks killer. Would be interesting to see the back fender rolled forward instead of back.

Great start!

The Firestone tank will have more mass when I make it wider and wrap it on the top tube, but I'm not sure if it will have a much bigger profile than it currently has. I'll cross that bridge later in the build.

Yes, that is the frame. You can see more of Nanner Puddin here.

The Monark piece will be closer to the Girvin, but it won't interfere with the train light. It will actually move away from the light as the girvin springer compresses.

I'll try the fender rotated, but it seems like when I mocked that a while back I just didn't like the way it looked near the curved seattube.

King fish you always had a good eye for mix matching parts .. looking good buddy

Thanks, that is part of the fun.

The more I look at my mockups, the more I don't like how fat the Girvin fork legs are. As much as I was getting stoked about doing another faux fork addition, I think I am going to drop the Girvin for this build.

I have one of these Sunlite modern Monark-esque springers that I got from @Rat Rod a couple of years ago in a trade. I think he even used a set on his Ruff Dean. I'm gonna try it out this weekend on Rockafella.

I have been looking at fork options for Hawth 2 (the red frame) and that Sunlite one was near the top of the list. I've also never done a triple tree, but the springer is a little more rat rod in my mind.
