Rust in Space

Tonight I remembered I had already bought a pair of Thompson grips for the Spaceliner. They were still on those Clubman bars that I put on the Ross. I pulled them off and mounted small blue reflectors on the ends. I know Mazda Flyer put reflectors on his grips already, but I was planning to do it before he did his. LOL

Tried a little experiment with some copper pipe left from last year's build off. Last year's blue not quite the same as this year's. [emoji16]
Anyway, not sure if I like it. Maybe the pipe should just go straight back from the axle. Maybe the pipe shouldn't be there at all.

Found a different seat to try. Lots of shiney springs.

Work on the Spaceliner, and everything else bike related is on hold for awhile. Got myself spider bit last week in the left foot so it's kinda hard to get anything done outside. Fortunately I can work from home so I don't need to wear shoes.
Really wanted to get the Spaceliner rideable for the Fourth of July. Not sure about doing that now.

Maybe it was boredom, perhaps inspiration. In the spirit of the original Spaceliner 3 jewel pedals, and old school blue dot taillights, I added blue jewels to a pair of retro bow pedals. Even in my spider induced exile from bike building I had to do something! LOL

Spider bite is doing better. Still looks nasty, but smaller now. Decided to venture out to the shed after work and see what I could do to the Spaceliner today.

Cleaned up the crank bearings, lubed them and got the crank mounted. Then the pedals. But the foot was telling me it wasn't happy in the heat, so I went back in for some refreshment and put the foot up with an ice pack to cool down.

Half hour later I was back at it and got the chain hooked up. Took a brief spin around the yard in the flip flops I been wearing in the yard since the bite. Bike felt good, but the flip flops were freaking me out. Mounted the chain guard, took some pictures, then put stuff away and went to the house.

First casualty of the Spaceliner mission. Lost the bulb from the horn on the first road trip. Car ran over it before I could find it. Will probably use a hose clamp to remount it.
