Saved from the local scrap yard crusher

Can anyone help me ID this bike. Heres a pic of the serial numbers

Looks like it reads D 7 top then 8622N

Great find, I am taking a wild guess and saying Colson

Fork was frozen oiled it and the crank now they both turn

1938 Colson with JC Higgins Guard and Monark Sprocket.

I think it's a 38-9 Cleveland Welding Co. with that sprocket. rms37 can tell for sure if it's one or the other. ~Adam

Not really sure yet, When i asked about it at the yard and they said it was going to be crushed i couldnt let it happen. I`d rather see it in someones flower bed than crushed, Just got back into bicycles and not sure im ready to handle a restoration, but making it a rider might be the plan for now

I`m more worried about the adjuster screws for the rear wheel, oiled them a few times now hoping it helps

Anyone know if the seat post (L shaped) was a add on part at that time or a certain type bike had it?

Nice, looks like a 36 or 37 Roadmaster, after 37 the bars were moved further apart, used one for RRBBO3

Nice. Wire brush the threads on those adjusters before you try turning them and as you go. That should help.

I think that's right. the guard is a Murray and not correct as I believe several others mentioned.
