i was looking thru my frame stash today,looking for something to play around with,and drug out this old schwinn that a friend brought to me at xmas. tried looking the serial numbers up on the cabe,no luck! can any of schwinn specialists help me out? it would be much appreciated,thanx! :D the # is B68067.

If you didn't find the number in the serial lists, then the bike was built before the fire in 1949. The forward facing dropouts date it to after WWII, so it falls in the 1945-49 time frame. Several different models used the same straight bar frame.
 
Ok everybody knows I'm not a big Schwinn fan but man that one has some good fenders on it. Wonder how they would look on an elgin....Naaaa just kidding. :wink:

Dang it, now you got me to thinking about stealing the fork from my B6 find, for my Elgin.
 
those dang fenders! :? 3 hrs. ago,i told uncle stretch i was gonna make the ugliest schwinn rat of all time. then i found the fenders,put em on and did a 180! :shock: oh well.....lemme go find that sweet hawthorne head tube badge. :wink:
 
Hey Texasbigjohn, re size that photo a bit and let me see if I can get you a little closer (year wise) I am interested in seeing fork and front fender as well as a better shot of the kick stand. Do you have any other parts that came with the bike? Later & PEACE!!!! :wink:
