I'd let you paint my eyes 👀 any day ... Wait, what? 🤣
Fantastic detail.

Any time, every time.

Alright. I went ahead and risked bending my fork legs a smidge more to get the stance I wanted. Thankfully, they're still even.

The bend is a touch kinked, but looks worse (in the pic) than it is. However, I am going to tap in some rebar to reinforce the bend, as a precaution.

Soaked them in evaporust then rinsed, dryed, and rubbed the pieces down with wd40. I also coated the inside of the tubing with wd40 so there's little risk of corrosion from within.

Thinking of making a couple gaskets out of the excerciser grips, to help reduce vibration between the tubing.

That'll work.

Cleaned off decals, measurement marking, filings, and grit. Time for assembly.

Had to do some finessing to get the spacers to go in the larger tubing. They are an exact fit, closing the gap between both sets of tubing. However, it's so tight of a fit, that I had a hard time getting the gasket to slide up into the outer tube, while keeping it around the inner tubing.

Love the look and the stance!

I hope the rebar reinforcement holds the kinky bend well enough to avoid any unpleasant unexpectedness.

With a 52t sprocket instead of the original 48t, the chainguard sits too low when mounted to the original 'L' tab on the BB. I need a bracket that will float the guard just above the original mounting. If you zoom in, you'll see I'm resting the chainguard brace on top of the 'L' tab, so it sits in the proper position.

I remembered I had this remnant of a reflector bracket that snapped off when I was trying to fabricate a mounting bracket for a previous build. I was making an entirely different type of bracket, so this piece was useless at the time. However, it should be perfect for this situation!

Filed out the end, and look at that - A perfect fit!

Winner, winner...chicken dinner!

Exactly why you never throw away any type of metal bracket, no matter how small. :D

Had to find a rim to fit the OG Spitfire tire. Of course, the axle was toast, so I swapped that out, and here we are...

Now that I have more of the bike together. I think I'll pass on the orange tire idea. Shifting to the possibility of one of these?

Guard is great.
I'm digging the redline whitewall idea too.
Reminds me of the redline Vans I have.

Ok, I pulled the trigger on a redwall. I'm going to paint the lettering on the front tire, so a redwall gives me some canvas to do lettering on the rear. It will tie together the guard and seat a little better too, as they're kinda floating blocks of red at the moment.

Was going to shave off the tabs on both fork legs, but the non-drive side tab is pretty much perfect for this particular headlight bracket. I wouldn't mount a headlight, and I considered a mirror, but still haven't figured out what to use it for. So for now, the tab stays.
