Shimano 333 stifter work with a Sturmey Archer hub

I've got a Shimano 333 stick shifter, and a new Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub. Is the spacing between gears on the shifter the same as what the hub would need to shift gears? Or do I need to get a Sturmey Archer shifter. Below are links to the shifter and the hub I'm using.

I'm pretty sure the spacing / pull is different. I had a shifter like that and an older Sturmey hub and I couldn't never get it to work just right, I could get it to shift into every gear but it never worked like I wanted it to.

They are completely different systems. Get an SA shifter.

Thanks guys for the info. I installed my rim today with the Sturmey Archer hub. It works great, the shifter that came with the hub is hard to beat, very convenient. But I think I'm still going to get a S/A stick shifter you just can't beat the look. :mrgreen:
The movement on the Shimano shifter is quite a bit longer than the S/A shifter.
