This one was in with some bikes I bought a few weeks ago. It is a 26" frame. Don't know what year it is?

wow guys great thread. I have had little luck figuring out the year of my ladies viscount. Any clues? Also if anyone has a headbadge laying about I will pay a couple bucks :p There is a hole in the headtube so it was a riveted one not the decal but I'm considering printing one if I can't locate an original.

I posted this in the Builds thread but here she is before I took to her with a wrench.

BTW the freakin' spiders and beetles that came out of the frame were DISGUSTING (it was in a field). BLURGH!

tdd....Your frame is '58-'62....Most likely a "Middle Weight"....
Schwinn held the "Cantilever"patent through '57....
After that all bicycle manufacturing companys could build the canti design....
In '54 the "Evans Products Company" bought out the "Bicycle Division" of the
"Colson Corporation"....
At first the bikes were badged as Evans-Colson, later, only the Evans name was used....
Evans also contracted with "Harley Earl" (Head of GM's styling dept.), to give a new look
to their bicycle line....Most likely where the squared off fenders came from....
Evans ended bicycle mfg. in '62....

This is a nice example of an "Evans" "Middle Weight" "Cantilever" framed bicycle....
The 400 Viscount....(Not mine, pics I found on the web)

Thanks for the info.

I have two.

Interceptor 300
This has a hole in the frame for a tank. Does anyone know if this model/year came with a tank, and what it looks like?

I know this is at least a '58 but can anyone nail the year on this for me, or what the original looked like? I can't find it anywhere.

I picked up this ladies Evans Interceptor earlier this summer. I didnt know a thing about it, and still dont know much lol. But its cool looking and appears to be all original. I am looking to sell it but I have no idea what it is worth. If anybody could fill me in on some info on this thing I would appreciate it. I did pull the seriel number: G021545G26. But can not find info on how to decipher the year.

My last name is Evans, so I've been hunting one of these for a while. My buddy found one last week, and I immediately built it up rode it for the first time last night!

Picked this one up free from my wife's friend who was moving and "didn't need it anymore". It's a 50's Evans Colson that was covered with a pretty heavy coat of blue paint. Started stripping and sanding and this is where it's at now.

Man, it is painful to scroll through this thread and see all of the history killed with photobucket ransom notices.

Anyway, here is an Evans Interceptor that I picked up recently.
